A bit about me
I'm Gabriel De Castro, a full-stack developer and Software System Analyst at G Chemtrading Corp. I build and maintain the systems the FOG Group of Companies uses for inventory, sales, HR, and B2B ordering.
I work end to end: I gather requirements with the people who will use the system, build the application, and set up the Linux or Windows servers it runs on, including WebSocket servers for live dashboards and real-time updates.
I pick tools by what fits the job and the deadline: Laravel, Vue.js, and ColdFusion for business applications; Node.js and TypeScript for APIs, scrapers, and proxies; and NativePHP, Capacitor, or Electron when a project needs a mobile or desktop app.
I also build AI chatbots and AI-powered crawlers that help businesses search and make sense of their data. AlyaAI, further down this page, is one of them.
Work Experience

- Gathers and analyzes operational requirements with business stakeholders and translates them into web and mobile applications for G Chemtrading and companies under the FOG Group of Companies.
- Sole developer of the personnel management system and the Impurio B2B grocery platform, and lead developer of the warehouse inventory and point‑of‑sale system, writing about 70% of its code.
- Modernizes legacy systems by introducing real‑time dashboards and automated workflows that reduce manual processing.
- Sets up, integrates, and maintains Linux and Windows production servers, including WebSocket servers, and applies regular security updates.
- Designed and launched the company's corporate website (gchem.com.ph) with newsletter signup and direct email contact.
- Delivers end‑to‑end web applications for clients in e‑commerce, logistics, and service industries, from requirements through deployment.
- Designs and implements secure REST APIs and WebSocket servers for real‑time data synchronization.
- Develops native Android applications and integrates them with backend systems.
- Manages and optimizes client hosting and cloud infrastructure to reduce hosting and maintenance costs.
- Developed features for bookdis.com, a taxi, service, and food booking platform, including real‑time chat and live order status updates, using Laravel, Vue.js, and WebSockets.
- Contributed to GPLUS, an authorization server and merchant platform for GoPlus partner merchants, featuring GPLUS Pay for settling merchant payables, admin tools, and a mobile marketplace app.
- Developed and integrated REST APIs and optimized backend algorithms to improve API response times.
- Managed application servers, including setup and configuration of WebSocket servers for real‑time features.
- Worked with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and deliver features for clients in the food and service sectors.
